Cultural Cleansing Story 'O The Day

Offensive material at Good Humor!

Almost unbelievable, until one has had to deal with "human resources professionals:"

FLORIDA COMPANY SEIZES EMPLOYEE’S COTTON BLOSSOM

CLEARWATER, FL – A supervisor at a Florida ice cream plant has asked the SLRC to investigate the confiscation by company officials of a stalk of cotton he brought to work to show fellow employees.
The employee, who works at a Good Humor/Breyers plant in Clearwater, says he picked the single stalk of cotton on his way back from a family reunion in Georgia and brought it to work to show his colleagues, many of whom had never seen an actual cotton boll. He placed the cotton on his desk, left his work station and returned to find the cotton gone. A company human resources officer told him it had been removed because it “might cause disruption.”
“It was just an object, a boll of cotton,” the employee said. “I brought it to show around because to me it’s pretty. That was the only motive.”
The employee says he feels the company’s action was arbitrary and unwarranted, undermined his supervisory position, and casts an unfavorable light on his record as an employee, without foundation. He is appealing through company channels while the investigation goes forward.

I suppose there is a ban against cotton in the workplace? Does the presence of cotton offend the wearers of synthetics? Does the presence of cotton make ice cream even less creamier?
Is the human resources "professional" such a person who can't wear the newest and sexiest cotton clothing? Is this act simply a combination of low self esteem, jealousy, and the inability to handle authority? Oh, let's not forget the ability to think clearly, too.

Oy! I tell ya' some synthetics wearers should be hidden from view. Anyway, what's the point? I can fully see how some of our more "open minded" people out there can take something as innocuous as a cotton boll, and make a political/racial statement from it.

The American South is the only region of the county where its culture and people are pretty much fair game for good old Socialist "ethnic cleansing." I've been around all over the US, and in many places around the globe, and I never saw racism until I had to live among the open minded people of the Northeast. Heh. I grew up in an integrated society before I knew what it meant. All of us ignorant folks from the South just thought that someone of anoher race was another person. I never knew just how responsible I was for the repression of my neighbors until I dealt with "smart" folks from New England who always seemed to associate in the liliest white of white circles. But, you have to have someone to blame all of the world's ills on, I guess?

I reccomend that this dolt who felt the siezure of personal property was appropriate in her "nanny-state" mind be stripped of anything that might be offensive to me. Such as her authority to deal with people using obviously bad judgement. Until then, I'll be eating Mayfield!
